A collection to celebrate Land Cruiser's Heritage
Toyota asked us to create a merchandise collection to celebrate the launch of their newest Land Cruiser vehicle (2024). The collection was to be released on their web-shop, which we also provide and run.
Here's the run down:
Good to know:
- The Toyota Land Cruiser is an iconic car and has garnered fans (and fan clubs) across the globe.
- The Land Cruiser combines durable quality and the latest 4x4 technologies better than any other vehicle.
- Although its distinctive design has undergone makeovers through the years, the Land Cruiser remains instantly recognizable.
Briefing:
Toyota wanted this collection to honor the heritage behind the Land Cruiser, a vehicle that was first released in the 1950’s, is present in 170 countries, and has been sold 11 million times.
Toyota’s briefing placed emphasis on going “Back to the roots”, and “New-stalgia”, both in line with their desire to honor the Land Cruiser’s heritage in popular culture. With that said, Toyota requested that the customizations on the items for this collection have a “vintage” look to them.
How did we do it?
Outcome:
Our sales representative teamed up with our in-house creative team and proposed a variety of designs that would complement Toyota’s pre-established Land Cruiser logo. The designs had a distinct, bold look to them, reminiscent of vintage styles and prints.
As per Toyota’s request, the collection’s designs had two main colors: sand and blue, which also correspond to two of Land Cruiser’s iconic colors.
The final collection had over 40 items, ranging from adult and children’s apparel to drinkware. Each item was carefully customized by the Kick And Rush team in accordance with Toyota’s initial briefing.
